Hi,
My mother really realy wants me to find out whether or not her mother and father were actually legally married. Someone in the family searched public records at the courthouse and couldn’t find the license for my grandmother and grandfather. Then someone searched the church where they got married and no record there either. The marriage probably occured around 1931.
Is there a free place online that will let you search marriage licenses? Or do I have to sign up with ancestry and buy their package?

The current owner bought it less than a year ago. Should I search the Yellow Pages for a home near this property, call them and ask if they knew the previous owner? I have also considered going back to the town and searching public records to find the sale. Never done that before. What would I be looking for? What would speed up my search? Every page I come across searching for criminal and public records says it’s free, and then tries to charge you before you can get your results. I know that there are sites you can go to and for free search criminal records, my wife said in Highschool she went to one of these pages for a class, and now cant remember what the site was. So if anyone knows a site for this please let me know.
