I have been trying to look up various things and I thought public records are free but I have been searching and every site wants to charge. A couple of yers ago I ran into a site that didn’t chage but I don’t remember it. I just need basic property and criminial or probate records.

If you know what county it’s in you can go to that county’s web site and go to something like “online services”…it almost always has that sort of search for free to the public.

no even if you get them at the court house or police dept you’ll have to pay a small fee for processing if you need hard copies.
