How do I get public records changed if they are wrong?

public records search
Sonya asked:

I am 21 years old, but I have been getting spam mail for years about medicare and other stuff that is for seniors. I always laughed and thought someone somewhere must think im old.

Recently, I was just browsing the internet and found a publc records search. I searched my name and guess what …next to my name it says I’m 78 years old. I know it has to be me, because next to it, it has possible relatives - and all the people mentioned are my family members.

Does anyone know how I go about getting this fixed? I am just tired of getting all the spam old people mail. It isn’t funny anymore…

    You cant change it man…………….its your permanent record man……………….it will follow you forever.

    Ok first off, as far as the internet, I doubt that can ever been changed.. you know, like once it on on the web… well it’s written in blood.

    Now as far as fixing it if some records out there… I would start by contacting the social security office and making sure you are not a victim of some sort of identity theft.

    Someone could have possibly gotten your ssn, altered your birth certificate birth date ( b. cert. are easy to get) and might be getting medicare under your name.
