What should I look for regarding public information on a business?

I would like to search public records on the internet regarding his business, but I don’t know exactly what I should be looking for.

The business is in Connecticut and I would appreciate any help getting me pointed in the right direction.

You can contact the better business bureau to check him out. It is your father why would you want to do such thing?

Unless it’s a publicly traded company, you won’t find anything, especially on the internet -whatever he’s doing is his problem, not yours
