Does anyone know of a real free criminal record search page?

Every page I come across searching for criminal and public records says it’s free, and then tries to charge you before you can get your results. I know that there are sites you can go to and for free search criminal records, my wife said in Highschool she went to one of these pages for a class, and now cant remember what the site was. So if anyone knows a site for this please let me know.

Try putting “no cost criminal records” in your search engine and see what comes up. Can’t hurt.

I live in Michigan, the state has a web site that gives that information. Yours may also.

There is no site that will give you criminal records! That is against the law!
In my state you can search for a person who is currently incarcerated or a sexual offender.
Some places offer to do that, however they are a rip-off as they can’t do it either!
Some site may carry those who were convicted and appeared in the paper but that is all they are going to get!
The only National search is through the NCIC and only the police have access to that!

Release of Convictions, some information does not come under the Right to Know Law, and is not released. Some states do release convictions, not records and it is usually on a state basis.
Mine won’t allow it. Others might allow some information, for a fee!

The states correction websites usually have free information on existing, former and escaped inmates. Also on any one on parole and probation.
I live in Florida and the florida corrections site has all the inmates information. As in date of birth, name, address and the crimes they committed.
Cantcu nees to know that criminal records ARE public records. How do you think employers contact background checks?

You can go to your state’s judicial website for this information. I don’t know what state you’re in, so I can’t provide a link. Find your state court’s judicial website, go to case look-up and type in the name. That will show you all criminal and civil matters the individual has ever had. In some states, it may only go back for 20 or 30 years. Most states have not added old cases to their website yet.
