Rootschat does not have public records - but it does have very nice people who might be willing to do lookups. Please note that Rootschat is geared mostly towards British ancestry.
Rootsweb would be a better forum to ask for a lookup in if you need an American lookup.
Freebmd and freecen are free BMD and free census records available online for British ancestry. I don’t know what free records are available for Americans as I dont have any American ancestry.
