Start by going to the city building department and see if they have any record of plan approval for it. Also go to the land records office, and see if you can establish a chain of title. (But the title info won’t help as much as the other.)

Answered the other day,, Easiest way to check the age of your house, unless really old is to check the date on toilet. Does it almost every time.

Otherwise then you can make the trip to the court house.

Take it to the courthouse in your area along with the MLS number.

Not sure what this is called in Minnesota, but in Missouri you would go to the courthouse and see the “Real Estate Assessor’s Office” (sometimes called the Appraiser’s Office). Since they have to arrive at a value for your home, they take the “date built” into consideration. Any information in their office should be public record, especially for the owner of the property. Also, some of these offices keep photos of the house on file. You might be able to see what the house looked like years before you bought it.
