The hospital gave him medication and he was alergic to it. What public records do I search?

Get in touch with a lawyer. You can ask many of them questions for free.

You can get a copy of his death certificate that includes the cause of death. Go to the county where he passed away and request a copy that includes cause of death. This is usually filed with the department of public records. You need his name and the date he died. Many times, the funeral home will give certified copies of two types of death certificates, one that indicates cause of death, and one that doesn’t.

Depends on where you are. Death certificate isn’t always a public record; cause of death isn’t always available,

I’d start with the legal records from the hospital and a medical malpractice atty.,

Cause of death will be on the death certificate. I am not certain of your status, if you don’t know if there was an obit. Death certificates in the US are not open to the general public, for various reasons. You have to be either spouse or child.

I am sorry and you should hire a lawyer and have closure.
